Weekend
Over the weekend the North Bay Police responded to 213 calls for service that resulted in 22 arrests. Offences included; assaults, domestic assaults, assault bodily harm, impaired driving, possession of drugs, break and enter, breach of court orders and public intoxication.

Mischief/Arson
On 19th Oct at 11:15pm, residents at an Overholt St address heard a noise at the front entrance. When they checked they found a plastic bottle containing a substance believed to be a mixture of fertilizer and gasoline. It appeared to have been set on fire and thrown at the building, but the flame had gone out. Cst Scott Buchanan is investigating.

Theft
On 18 Oct at 2:00pm, an unknown woman approached a homeowner on Reynolds St and asked to use the washroom. The woman used the washroom then left. The next day the home owner realized that items were missing. The woman is described as; very friendly female, white, 5ft 5 inches, medium build, mid twenties, medium length brown hair, wearing a tight brown jacket and tight brown jeans. This is the second similar incident in the past two weeks. In the first, the victim was elderly and the female was riding a bike. Cst Merv Shantz is investigating. The North Bay Police wish to caution the public about allowing strangers into their home regardless of the reasons. Medicine cabinets are usually one of the targets in this type of occurrence.

Assault bodily Harm
On the 20th Oct at 2:10 a.m. a man at a bar on College Dr was struck in the face with a beer bottle. The victim sustained lacerations to his cheek, forehead, and ear. A 24-year-old Barrie man was arrested and charged with assault cause bodily harm. Csts Richard Hampel and Jennifer Hollingshead are investigating.

Break and Enter Arrest
Investigation into a break in at an east end variety store on Oct 2nd has led to the arrest of Robert Bell 64 yrs of no fixed address. He is charged with theft under and break and enter with intent. It is alleged that a chair was stolen from a Regina St address and taken to the variety store where it was used to sit on while the siding and wall were removed to gain access to the safe.

Walkers Lost And Found
At 1:50pm 21st Oct the North Bay Police received information that a woman and her mother were lost somewhere in the Tower Dr area. They had taken the dogs for a long walk in the bush and used a cell phone to call for assistance. Cell phone triangulation was used to locate the general area and police officers were about to start a ground search of that area when they were located by ATV riders. Both mother and daughter were in good spirits and good health.

Autumn Litter Cleanup
There will be a volunteer litter cleanup on Sat 27th Oct 2012. It will involve the area along the paved campus path and forest section leading down to the north end of Gormanville Rd. High school students will be credited community service hours and receive a certificate. All equipment is provided. Volunteers are to meet at 1pm at the end of Monastery Rd. Everyone is invited.
