Weekend Over the weekend the North Bay Police responded to 205 calls for service that resulted in 13 arrests.

Over the weekend the North Bay Police responded to 205 calls for service that resulted in 13 arrests. Offences included assaults, break and enter, forcible entry, possession for purpose of trafficking, criminal harassment, breach of court orders, and public intoxication.

Drugs
On 25 Nov at 11:30pm North Bay Police were operating R.I.D.E. when a vehicle was observed to make a u-turn, stop and a male driver get out and go into the ditch. A subsequent check of this person located a baggie in the ditch containing what is believed to be 118 80mg oxycontin pills, 22 40mg oxycontin pills, and 10 100mg Fentanyl patches. A quantity of cash and a flick knife were also found in his possession. The street value of the drugs is estimated at approximately $25,000. Christopher Hewitt 27yrs of Ottawa was charged with 2 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of property obtained by crime. He was held in custody for a bail hearing. Csts Christian Elia and Kyle Hughes are investigating.

Break and Enter
At 12:14am 23 Nov, police responded to a complaint of a male going through cars on McGibbon Ave. At 12:18am a 15 yr old was arrested on McGibbon. Subsequent investigation revealed the youth was involved in a break and enter that occurred on Chapleau St earlier in the evening. He has been charged with break and enter with intent, and breach of probation. Cst Dan Shepstone is investigating.

Mischief
On 23rd Nov the North Bay Police responded to a complaint of a couple of headstones being knocked over at Terrace Lawn Cemetery. There was no damage to the stones, just the labour to reset them. The North Bay Police are requesting that anyone who sees people in any of our graveyards that appears to be inappropriate due to the time or conditions, to contact the police at 705-472-1234.

Break and Enter
Between 3:10pm and 3:50pm on 23rd Nov a residence on the 300 Block of McIntyre St E was entered. The residence had been searched and drugs, cash, cigarettes, and jewellery were taken. Cst Bruce Whitehead is investigating.

Break and Enter
Between 5:00pm the 22 Nov and 7:00am the 23rd Nov entry was gained to E.T. Carmichael School by forcing a rear door. The only items taken were a bag of trinkets and treats for the children. Cst Blake Vietmeier is investigating.
