HALLOWEEN The North Bay Police Service had a very busy weekend however Halloween itself was very uneventful. As of 10AM 1st Nov there are no reports of any mischief or any other problems that could be related to Halloween.

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON
At 7:00AM 31Oct North Bay Police responded to a disturbance call to a Third Ave residence .Upon arrival it was alleged that a woman had struck another woman with a bottle ,then punched and elbowed her several times. Victoria Shaganash 21 yrs of Third ave was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon, Assault Bodily Harm and Breach of Probation. She was held in custody for a Bail Hearing. Cst Zach Dagg is investigating.

BREAK AND ENTER
Between 5:30AM and 11:45 AM 31st Oct a trailer on Lake shore Dr was broken into. A computer and music equipment valued at $1250.00 was taken. Investigation by Cst Seth Dinsmore led to a Water St residence where he arrested Sarah Mitchell 28Yrs . All the property was recovered. She is charged with Break enter and Theft and held in custody for a bail hearing.

ASSAULTS
AT 12:15AM 30th Oct North Bay Police responded to a disturbance call near Fisher St. and Third Av. It was alleged that 2 males assaulted 2females and a male. One of the females had a tooth knocked out. Yves Desjardins 23yrs of Birches Rd and Bradley White 19yrs of Fraser St were both arrested and charged with Assault Bodily Harm and 2 counts of Assault. They are to appear in court 14Dec2010.

FALSE ALARM AND ARSON
On 30th Oct at 3:11AM a fire alarm was pulled on the 5th floor of a College residence. A few minutes later a fire was started in a garbage can at the front entrance. A video of the incident led to the arrest of a male young offender. He has been charged with False Alarm of Fire and Arson. Cst Gerry Martin is investigating.

ATTEMPT BREAK AND ENTER
RESIST ARREST
At 6:11 30Oct North Bay Police attended a Ski Club Rd address where they found a man attempting to force the door open. When the officers tried to arrest him, he resisted and had to be physically subdued and handcuffed. Corey Rice 20yrs of Gordon Dr. is charged with Attempt Break and Enter and Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest. He is to appear in court on 21st Dec 2010. Cst Scott Buchanan is investigating.

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON
On 29th Oct The North Bay Police answered a complaint where it was alleged that one woman struck another woman in the face with a cane. The victim’s front teeth were broken. Melissa Chartrand 21yrs of Kelly Lake Rd Sudbury was arrested and charged with Assault With a Weapon. She is to appear in court on the 30th Nov 2010. Cst Barry MacIntosh is investigating.

POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE
On 31st Oct at 9:02 Cst Tom Robertson stopped a vehicle on Marina Dr. in Callander. The occupant was observed to drop a bag of what is believed to be 9 grams of cocaine. She was arrested and a search of her person found 2 grams of what is believed to be crack cocaine. Deborah Whitfield 47yrs of Massey Dr is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
On 31st Oct at 8:05PM Csts Steve Chabbert and Scott Berry stopped a vehicle on Fourth Av W. Investigation revealed that the Licence plates were not authorized for the vehicle. The Driver was unable to provide any proof of ownership for the plates or for the vehicle. Mitchell Chirka 41yrs of Hwy 94 was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Possession of Stolen Property. He is also charged with 5 offences under the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in court on 14th Dec 2010.
