Collision at McIntyre Street East and Ferguson Street

On Friday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m., police, fire and ambulance responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of McIntyre Street East and Ferguson Street in North Bay. Public Works were also dispatched due to damage caused to a light pole.

The collision took place on McIntyre Street East, a one-way road with three lanes. The male driver of a minivan, who was travelling westbound in the centre lane and turning left towards Ferguson Street, collided into a four-door car travelling in the same direction in the left through lane. As a result of the impact, the car crossed Ferguson Street and struck a light pole in front of 101 McIntyre Street East. The male driver of the car and his male passenger were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the minivan was not injured.

Both vehicles required towing.

Following an investigation, North Bay Police charged the driver of the minivan with “improper left turn,” under Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act.
