Over the weekend the North Bay Police responded to 234 calls for service that resulted in 13 arrests. Offences included assaults, domestic assaults, threatening, forcible entry, break and enter, breach of court orders and public intoxication.

Break and Enter

On March 30 at 9:56 p.m. a man unlawfully entered a person’s room in a Fourth Ave boarding house where he threatened the occupant. Brent Alderson, 29 years old, of Fourth Ave was arrested at 10:27 p.m. and charged with break and enter, uttering threats, and 2 counts of breach of probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Phone Fraud Caution

North Bay and area residents have recently been getting fraudulent phone calls where a recording tells the recipient that their credit card rate is going up and they should dial 1 to speak to an agent so you can keep your rate down. The recipient is then asked for their name and credit card information. The North Bay Police wish to caution the public never to give your credit card information or other personal information to anyone where you did not initiate the contact and know exactly who you are talking to.
