POLICE OFFICERS ASSAULTED On Mar 21 at approximately1040 am Constables Dan Shepstone & Kailee Bradley stopped a vehicle on Lakeshore Drive for a routine traffic check.
POLICE OFFICERS ASSAULTED

On Mar 21 at approximately1040 am Constables Dan Shepstone & Kailee Bradley stopped a vehicle on Lakeshore Drive for a routine traffic check. The driver commenced causing a disturbance by screaming; swearing and using insulting language while the officers checked the condition on his driver’s licence suspension. The driver continued being confrontational and escalated his belligerent behaviour until the point where officers attempted to arrest him for causing a disturbance. The driver resisted arrest and struggled with the two officers. Constable Bradley Reaume, who attended to assist the two other officers, was punched in the head causing minor injuries.
Jason Einarson, age 29-years of 2nd Ave West in North Bay has been charged with Assaulting a Police Officer with Intent to Resist Arrest, and Cause Disturbance. He was also charged with Provincial Offences in regards to his driving under suspension.
Einarson has been released with a court date of 29 April 2008.

CITY BUSSES DAMAGED

City Police Officers, Randy Adair & Henry O’Neill attended at Widdefield City Yards in response to a complaint that three youths were smashing windows in some city busses. Upon their arrival, officers captured one individual carrying an axe and arrested him for mischief. The other two youths were not immediately identified. Bus windows sustained in excess of $5000.00 in damage.
Jason Kyle Cameron Rickard, 18-years-old of Airport Road has been charged with Mischief over $5000.00 and Weapons Dangerous. He has been released with a court date of May 06, 2008.

RECENT CRIMES SOLVED

North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit Constables Richard Hampel, Scott McFarlane, and D/Cst. Dan Robertson have been actively investigating a series of Break & Enters in recent weeks and Arson at St. Rita’s Parish on Douglas Street, reported yesterday.
Last Night, at 10:52 pm, Cst. Matt Parker, assisted by D/Cst. Robertson arrested a male on unrelated matters and subsequently cleared a Break and Enter at a car Dealership on Cassells Street and The Arson at St. Rita’s Parish.
Jack Walton, age-25, of no fixed address in North Bay is charged with; Threatening, Breach of Undertaking, Assault, 2-counts of Break & Enter with Intent, and with Arson. He has been remanded into custody pending a bail Hearing March 25, 2008.

LONG CAB RIDE

A 49-year-old cab driver from Trenton Ontario is out over $400.00, after a couple she picked in Trenton fled from her at the Bus Station in North Bay, Thursday Mar 20 at approximately 7:42 pm.
The cab driver advised she picked up a 24-year-old male and a 26-year-old female in Trenton, drove them to North Bay on an agreed upon flat rate of $450.00, only to arrive in North Bay and find out they had insufficient cash to pay the cab driver. On the pretext of meeting someone at the Bus Depot with the cash, the two escaped through the back onto Northgate Square Property, where they were arrested at 8:07 pm. The male was then found to be in possession of a small quantity of marihuana.
Guy Michel Brazeau of Kirkland Lake is charged with 2-counts of Breach of Undertaking, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Fare Fraud. He has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing on Tuesday.
Leanne Tinney, also of Kirkland Lake has been charged with Fare Fraud and released with a court date of April 29, 2008.
