Weekend Over the weekend the North Bay Police responded to 264 calls for service that resulted in 17 arrests.

Over the weekend the North Bay Police responded to 264 calls for service that resulted in 17 arrests. Offences included assaults, domestic assaults, assault bodily harm, break and enter, impaired driving, frauds, breach of court orders and public intoxication.

Assault with a Weapon
At 3:50a.m.21 June a fight involving several people in the area of McKeown Ave at Algonquin resulted in a man being taken to hospital with 2 lacerations. Investigation has led to the arrest of Chad Dempsey 21years of Delaware Av. He has been charged with assault with a weapon and assault bodily harm. He is to appear in court on the 30th July. Cst Darcy Wall is investigating.

Break and Enter
Overnight on the 20th and 21stst June a restaurant on the 700 block of Main St E was entered and a quantity of cash taken. Investigation resulted in Leonard Hollett 49years of Lakeshore Dr being arrested at 12:11p.m. on the 21st June. A search of his person located a small quantity of what is believed to be crack cocaine. He has been charged with break enter and theft, possession of a controlled substance and 2 counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody for a bail hearing. Cst Jennifer Hollingshead is investigating.

Frauds
In January 2013 a receptionist at a local business recorded a customer’s credit card number then used the information several times to pay her personnel bills. Melonie Morin 47 years of First Ave was arrested on the 23rd of June and charged with 10 counts of fraud. She is to appear in court on the 30th July. Cst Steve Trahan is investigating.

Break and Enter
Between 12:30a.m. and 3:00a.m. on the 21st June, a garage on Mulligan St was entered and 2 custom bicycles stolen. One is a 2010 red “Dirt Jumper” valued at $2000. The other is a blue 2010 BMX Sobrosa Novus valued at $450. Cst Elizabeth Bell is investigating.

Stolen Vehicle
Between 11:00a.m. 22nd June and 12:45a.m. 23rd June a green 2011 Toyota Camry was stolen from a parking lot at Champlain St at McKeown Ave. The vehicle has a Quebec licence number 094TXM. A laptop computer and a MP3 player were left inside. Sgt Andre Berube is investigating.
