Weekend Over the weekend the North Bay Police Service responded to 232 calls for service that resulted in 10 arrests. Offences included assault, flight from police, impaired driving, breach of court orders and public intoxication.

Over the weekend the North Bay Police Service responded to 232 calls for service that resulted in 10 arrests. Offences included assault, flight from police, impaired driving, breach of court orders and public intoxication.

Flight from Police
On the 31st May at 12noon a man was observed by the O.P.P. operating a Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Hwy 17 west of Sturgeon Falls. The vehicle was clocked at speeds of 170kmh entering Sturgeon Falls. The vehicle disobeyed traffic lights and pursuit was stopped. At 12:35 the vehicle was observed by North Bay Police stopped at a red light on the Bypass at Cassells St.

The officer got out of the vehicle and attempted to arrest the subject when the officer’s arm was pushed away and the motorcyclist left at a high rate of speed. He went through a red light and was pursued at high speed to travel east on Hwy 17.

At 1:00 p.m. the driver was arrested by O.P.P. at a gas station in Rutherglen and turned over to North Bay Police. Mario Audet 47yrs of Ottawa has been charged with flight from police, assault police, and dangerous driving. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
