Weekend Occurrences Over the weekend, the North Bay Police Service responded to 239 calls for service that resulted in 8 arrests. Offences included public intoxication, breaches, warrants, and fraud over $5,000.

Over the weekend, the North Bay Police Service responded to 239 calls for service that resulted in 8 arrests. Offences included public intoxication, breaches, warrants, and fraud over $5,000.

Fraud over $5,000

On Saturday, May 31 at approximately 11 p.m., a man, accompanied by another man, used credit cards to purchase over $5000 worth of prepaid credit cards and gift cards at a convenience store in the 2600 block of Trout Lake Road. On Sunday June 1st at approximately 11:30 p.m., a man, accompanied by another man, attempted to purchase gift cards at a convenience store in the 500 block of Lakeshore Drive. Following an investigation, North Bay Police charged Ray-Andrew Dessalines, age 30 of Ottawa, Ontario and Emmanuel Juste, age 29, of Orleans, Ontario with fraud over $5000 and possession under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. They are to appear in court for bail hearings on Tuesday July 22nd, 2014 and Tuesday July 29th, 2014, respectively.

Public’s Assistance Requested

The North Bay Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in the following assault investigation. On Saturday, May 31 at approximately 1:30 a.m., a man assaulted a victim in front of a Main Street East nightclub. The victim was taken for medical treatment as a result of the assault and later released.

The male suspect is described as approximately 6’2” tall, weighing approximately 240 pounds, with short brown hair, and wearing a teal or turquoise shirt with a white swoosh logo on it. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
