Weekend Occurrences
Over the weekend, the North Bay Police Service responded to 193 calls for service and arrested and charged nine people with the following offences:
One person was charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000; one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking; two counts of possession of a controlled substance;
One person was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000;
One person was charged with one count of possession of marijuana under 30 grams and one count of breach of probation;
Two people were charged with assault;
One person was charged with one count of uttering threats;
One person was charged with one count of breach of probation and one count of unlawfully at large;
One person was charged with public intoxication; and
One person was charged with forcible entry.
Two face drug charges
Following an ongoing Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation, a traffic stop conducted at Delaware and Landsdowne and the execution of a search warrant at a residential address on Aberdeen Avenue in the early morning hours of Sunday, January 24, 2016, officers with the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime unit arrested and charged:
Corey Jason Lamarre, age 27, of North Bay with:
Two counts of possession of a controlled substance;
One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking; and
One count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
A 27-year old North Bay woman was charged with:
One count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; and
One count of possession of a controlled substance.
As a result of the investigation, North Bay Police seized the following as evidence:
Seven grams of crack cocaine;
1.7 grams of marijuana;
90ml of 20mg Methadone;
a large amount of Canadian currency, estimated to be over $5,000.
The total street value of the drugs seized is estimated at $800.
Lamarre was held in custody for bail, while the second accused was released from custody with a court date scheduled for March 8, 2016.
