Police were busy over the past weekend responding to 246 calls for service. The varieties of calls included, but are not limited to: Liquor Licence Act offences, neighbour disputes, threats, assaults, drug offences, break and enters, bail violations, impaired drivers and domestic disputes.

THEFT
On Saturday the 17th of August 2013 at Shoppers Drug Mart located at 2025 Cassells Street in North Bay, at approximately 12:30 p.m., an employee found a lost wallet on the floor. Upon retrieving the wallet, a male stepped forward and claimed the wallet as his and left with the property. A short time later, the true owner of the wallet attended the store and was notified that it was inadvertently given to another person.

The suspect in this matter is described as male, Caucasian, approximately 50 years old, 6’tall, white short hair, thin build and was wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts with 2 white stripes down the leg, running shoes, white socks, sunglasses and his right knee was wrapped in a bandage.

BREAK AND ENTER
On the 17th of August 2013 at approximately 5:00 a.m. officers responded to the reports of flashlights at the rear of Rental City on Lakeshore Drive. Upon arrival, officers found an e-bike had been removed from the store property and it’s battery was charging. Further investigation of the scene discovered a male in possession of a hatchet hiding in the area.

37 year old Curtis Landon of Ferguson Street in North Bay was arrested and charged with Break and Enter, Possession of Break in Tools, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Mischief and Breach of Probation. He will appear in court at a later date.

DRUGS
On the 17th of August 2013 at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers acting on information obtained, had opportunity to stop and search a vehicle near Fisher Street and the bypass. Located in the vehicle was: 88 grams of marijuana, 233 pills believed to be methamphetamines, 5.8 grams of what is believed to be hashish and other drug paraphernalia, with a value of approximately $1500.

19 year old Joran Maki of Bank Street and 19 year old Tyler Jordan of Norman Avenue were arrested and charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Further investigation revealed that Tyler Jordan was in possession of an additional 956 pills believed to be methamphetamines, with a value of approximately $10,000.

Both males are to appear in court at a later date.

ROBBERY
On the 17th of August 2013 at approximately 11:30 p.m., a male entered the Mac’s Convenience Store at 617 Main Street East in North Bay. After choosing some candy the male approached the lone cashier to pay. Once the register was open, the male reached into the till in an attempt to take the cash. A struggle ensued and the male managed to remove a quantity of cash before fleeing on foot from the store.

The suspect is described as male, Caucasian, approximately 40 years of age, 5’11” tall, thick muscular build, approximately 200 lbs, scruffy beard, brown hair and blue eyes. He was wearing jeans, a black baseball hat with white under armour logo on front, dark coloured shoes and a grey and black coat.

BREAK AND ENTER
Sometime in the afternoon hours of the 18th of August 2013, unknown persons forced entry into a residence on the 900 block of Widdifield Station Road in North Bay by accessing a rear window. Items taken include: a lock box, jewellery box, pellet gun, coin collection and purse. There are no suspects at this time.

Also on the 18th of August 2013 and also on the 900 block of Widdifield Station Road in North Bay, unknown persons forced entry into a residence through a basement window. Items taken include: jewellery and cash. There are no suspects at this time.

ROBBERY
On the 19th of August 2013 at approximately 1:00 a.m., an unknown male entered the Mac’s Convenience Store at 1146 Cassells Street in North Bay for the third time in an hour. The suspect held an item under his shirt while demanding money. The clerk gave the male a quantity of cash and the male fled on foot.

The suspect is described as: male, Caucasian, approximately 40 years of age, 6’2” tall, short dark hair, clean shaven, brown eyes, grey t-shirt, khaki shorts and brown work boots. The suspect also had a noticeable scar on his middle knuckle of his right hand.
