Weekend Over the weekend the North Bay Police responded to 188 calls for service that resulted in 22 arrests. Offences included assaults, domestic assaults, robbery, impaired driving, breach of court orders and several for public intoxication.

Robbery
At 6:40am on 31st Mar a man was walking on Fraser St at Third Ave and was about to enter the tunnel when a man who had been behind him stepped in front of him and demanded his I-Touch. When the victim refused he was punched repeatedly and when he fell down he was kicked several times. The assailant then fled, running up the railroad embankment towards the 100 block of Second Ave. The assailant had been following the victim wearing a light grey coat or sweater but took it off during the assault. He is described as; 5’10”, male, possibly native, mid 20’s, thin build, short black hair, acne and pock marked face, He also had scratches on his face and upper chest. Cst Scott Buchanan is investigating.

Weapon
At 10:00pm on the 30th Mar police responded to a report of a disturbance on the 300 block of Main St E where a man with an assault rifle had entered a residence. Nathan Maillet 21yrs of main St E was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace. The assault rifle was found to be a BB gun. He is to appear in court on 14th May.
