UPDATE: Man accused of attempted murder following stabbing incident

The following is an update to yesterday’s media release that the North Bay Police Service issued regarding an ongoing investigation.

Following an investigation into a stabbing incident that took place in a residential unit on Sunday evening, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

Jordan Dennis Jackson, age 25, of North Bay with:
One count of aggravated assault;
Two counts of attempted murder; and
One count of possession of marijuana.

It is alleged that on the evening of Sunday, May 14, 2017, a man was socializing with friends in his residential unit on Fourth Avenue East. The accused was also present. At one point, the accused, who was unprovoked, stood over a man present, stabbed him with a knife and repeatedly punched him. The victim was able to flee the scene. Following a call to 9-1-1, police and ambulance were immediately dispatched. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Immediately after the first assault, it is alleged that the accused confronted two other male victims in the residence and proceeded to stab both of them repeatedly. One male victim suffered severe injuries and remains in hospital. The other male suffered non-life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.

North Bay Police officers arrested the accused at the scene. A search after his arrest revealed that he was in possession of 13 grams of marijuana, which police seized as evidence.

Following his arrest, the accused was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He is currently being held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
