Man charged with impaired after car hits ditch

Also charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance
impaired driving breathalyzer stock

One person was arrested and charged in North Bay following a collision on Highway 11 in North Bay.

On January 18, 2024, just before 11:00 p.m., the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information about a single vehicle in the ditch on Highway 11 in North Bay.

At the scene, the officer spoke to the driver and determined that they had consumed an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the North Bay Detachment of the OPP for further testing.

As a result of the investigation Ibrahim COKSURER, a 33-year-old from North Bay was charged with the following:

·        Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

·        Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

·        Drive motor vehicle with currently validated permit

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay February 6, 2024.

The accused was also issued a 90-day driver's licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
