Man arrested during attempted break and enter on Ski Club Road

Police say a persistent criminal didn't know when to quit, and was arrested in the act of an attempted break-in yesterday on Ski Club Road.

It happened early in the morning, at approximately 6:40.

A resident heard someone trying to break into his back door, and after a brief interaction with the thief through the door, the victim then heard the man at the front door trying to gain entry there. 

The victim called the police who immediately rushed to the scene and took the suspect into custody without further incident.

A search revealed a knife, break-in tools, and two types of controlled substances.

Patrick Depotier, 40, of North Bay is charged with:

  • Attempted break and enter
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Possession of break-in tools
  • Two Counts of possession of a controlled substances

Depotier was held in custody for a bail hearing.
