Woman faces charges following break and enter

Following an investigation into a 911 call to police yesterday afternoon, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

Josee Lynn Lavallee, age 24, of Thorne, Ontario with:
One count of break and enter;
One count of weapon possession for a dangerous purpose; and
One count of uttering threats.

It is alleged that at approximately 3:51 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, in an apartment building downtown, the accused, carrying a baseball bat and a sword, entered a residential unit without the consent of the tenant, and threatened to harm a man who does not live there. The tenant, who was not injured, was able to disarm the accused before calling police. The accused left the scene in a vehicle before police arrival.

The North Bay Police Service thanks the Ontario Provincial Police for their assistance in locating the accused at her residence in Thorne at 7:15 p.m. yesterday, where she was arrested.

The accused was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for Oct. 18, 2016.
