Counterfeit bills, break and enter, and stolen vehicle recovery

Warning that a number of $50.00 U.S. counterfeit bills have been rendered at various stores in the city this past week. The colouring and texture is noticeably different from a normal bill.

A break in occurred overnight on the 16th of September at a business on the 1200 block Seymour where culprits removed four John Deere tractors and five Toro snow blowers.

On Sept. 21 2017 at approximately 5:25 p.m., North Bay Police officers responded to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision at Ski Club Road and O’Brien Street. The vehicle that left the scene was reported stolen by Peel Regional Police.

The vehicle was located on Chapais. With the assistance of witnesses the driver was apprehended while travelling on foot.

34-year-old Daniel Justin Conomy of Mississauga is charged criminally with:

  • possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.00
  • fail to stop at a scene of an accident and
  • refuse to provide a breath sample

He was held for a bail hearing.
