Thefts Put Public at Risk Recent thefts of copper wire at hydro substations have been not only been dangerous to the thieves, they have also left the public at risk.

Recent thefts of copper wire at hydro substations have been not only been dangerous to the thieves, they have also left the public at risk. On one occasion the perimeter fence was cut and the manner in which the wire was removed, put the thieves at risk and the substation was left insecure for 5 days. In a second incident at another station, if the power had been turned on the thieves would have been killed. Cst Steve Chabbert is investigating.

Break and Enter
Between 12:30pm and 3:00pm on the 30th May a residence on Birchwood Rd was entered. Rooms were ransacked and a quantity of cash taken. Cst Richard Hampel is investigating.

Sometime over the last week a residence on Gormanville Rd was entered and a quantity of beer and caps of power shots taken. Cst Greg Randall is investigating.
