On April 22 Cst. Larry Asselin, of the North Bay Police Service, arrested two men in relation to a break and enter that occurred on April 20 in an apartment on Trout Lake Road.

Jordan VANMIRELO, 18, of Main Street N in Callander, is charged with break, enter and theft, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of stolen property. He is to appear in court June 1.

Matthew KELLY, 19, of Dane Avenue, is charged with break, enter and theft and breach of probation. He is also to appear in court on June 1.

A third 17-year-old male youth is charged with theft under and possession of stolen property in relation to this same break and enter.

The investigation is ongoing.

BREAK AND ENTERS

On April 22 at approximately 3:50 PM an unknown male forcibly entered a residence in the 400 block of First Avenue W and stole several items. These were a Panasonic portable phone, 30 various CDs, a Nintendo 64 with six to seven games, a his and hers Geneva watch set with silver and gold bracelet style bands. The watches were in a mint green Geneva box which also contained a tarnished silver ring with a purple amethyst stone.

The description of the suspect is male, white, 20 to 30 years old, with short dark hair and wearing a grey hooded zippered sweater and blue jeans.

On April 23 a few minutes before 4 AM the owner of a home in the 500 block of McNamara Street heard some noise outside of his residence.

He went to investigate it and found that someone had removed the basement screen. The culprits had fled.
