Callander man charged with three counts of operation while prohibited under Criminal Code

A driver was stopped by police and their vehicle was impounded for 45 days after being arrested and charged.

On December 27, just after noon, a North Bay OPP officer saw a vehicle on Tillicum Bay Road in Callander, stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver.

It was determined that the driver of the vehicle had consumed an alcoholic beverage. The driver was arrested and transported to the North Bay OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation the driver, Mark Nix, 48, from Callander was charged with three counts of operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code.

Nix was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on January 30.

The accused was also issued, and seven-day driver's licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
