Ammunition and small amount of drugs found on impaired driver

A driver is facing four charges after being stopped by North Bay OPP last week.

On November 24 at 8:27 p.m., police conducted a vehicle stop on the 11/17 bypass. 

The driver was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.

A search revealed ammunition and a small number of drugs suspected to be cocaine and opioids.

The driver, Valentin-Octavian Fodor, 44, of Redbridge is charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drug
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - opioid

Fodor was issued a 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on December 20 North Bay.
