It was a muggy, hazy weekend as much of northern Ontario continues to be under air quality advisories. With indexes remaining in the high to very high risk levels certain precautions should be taken.

A Manitoulin man has been found guilty of using a firearm carelessly and is now facing $10,000 in fines. The hunter was in possession of a loaded high-powered rifle which he was aiming out of his truck window at a whitetail deer.

The On-Line News Act known as Bill C-18 received royal assent last week after going through the House and Senate. The Toronto Blue Jays ended the weekend on a winning note with a 12-1 romp over the Oakland Athletics. George Springer who homered in the game also moved him up in the record books. Jays are off on Monday before starting a home stand against the San Francisco Giants.
