Voting for the 2022 municipal election in North Bay gets underway this week with the first advance poll opening on Wednesday and online voting starting on Thursday.

Eligible voters can vote in person at one of three advance polls, the first of which takes place this Wednesday, Oct. 12 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. at West Ferris Arena. The second advance poll runs this Friday, Oct. 14, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Castle Arms II at 480 Olive St, and is followed by a third advanced poll next Monday, Oct. 17 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. at Memorial Gardens.

The online voting period starts Thursday, Oct. 13 and runs until Oct. 24. Eligible voters can vote from anywhere using any computer, tablet or smartphone. Computers will also be available for online voting in the lobby at City Hall from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Oct.13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21.

Eligible North Bay electors, who are planning to vote online and have not received a letter in the mail or received a letter that includes incorrect personal information, should contact the City Clerk’s Office at 705-474-0400 to be added to the voters’ list and receive a PIN.

A voter information letter cannot be used as voter identification at an in-person poll. All that’s required to vote in person is an acceptable identification showing a name and qualifying North Bay address. It is recommended, however, that those planning to vote in person and who do not receive a voter information letter, or receive a letter that includes incorrect personal information, also contact the Clerk’s Office to be added to the voters’ list in advance.

On Oct. 24, electors can vote in person between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. at any one of five central Super Poll locations, including the Davedi Club on Airport Road, Memorial Gardens, West Ferris Arena, Canadore College’s Commerce Court campus and Vincent Massey Public School’s Annex on Janey Avenue.
