Passed away suddenly on Monday, April 25, 2005, in his 16th year. Ryan leaves behind his grieving parents Chantal and Gary of Powassan, and his brothers Ian and Darwin, both of Callander. He is survived by his maternal grandmother, Thérèse Trottier of Hearst, his maternal great-grandmother Eva Boucher of Quebec. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Fred Trottier and his paternal grandparents, Mildred (Driver) and Reginald Fleming. Ryan leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins whom he deeply loved, and who loved him. He also leaves behind many life-long friends at West Ferris Secondary School and St. Joseph's-Scollard Hall. Ryan was a member of Royal Canadian Army Cadets, Regiment 204, as well as a member of the RCAC Drill Team and the Cadet Challenge Team in North Bay. He was to be promoted to Corporal on Tuesday, April 26th, an advancement well earned by Ryan. He was also an Honours Student at West Ferris Secondary School, and played on the Junior Soccer Team. The family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home in Powassan (705-724-2024) on Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Powassan United Church on Saturday at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Powassan Union Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made in his memory to the Ryan Fleming Memorial Award through the funeral home. "You have been taken from us so suddenly, but forever in our hearts you will remain!"
