ALMAGUIN HIGHLANDS OPP INVESTIGATE THEFT OF SNOWMOBILE

(PERRY TWP, ON) On Saturday February 7, 2015 at approximately 9:00 a.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the theft of a 2000 Formula Z Skidoo snowmobile, on Fern Glen Road, Perry Township. 

Sometime overnight between Friday February 6, 2015 and Saturday February 7, 2015 unknown person(s) entered the property and stole the vehicle which is valued at approximately $2400.

Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.”

     PERRY TOWNSHIP MAN CHARGED WITH HAVING MORE THAN
                                   80 MILLIGRAMS OF ALCOHOL

(MACHAR TWP, ON) The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a single vehicle collision involving a 2001 General Motors of Canada (GMC) Yukon on Monday February 9, 2015 at approximately 12:30 a.m., on Highway 11 in Machar Township.

OPP attended the scene and spoke to the driver, Nathanial UPTON, 22 of Perry Township and subsequently arrested and charged him for driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 26, 2015 in Sundridge, Ontario.

       OPP CHARGE HAMILTON DRIVER WITH HAVING MORE THAN
                                   80 MILLIGRAMS OF ALCOHOL

(MCMURRICH-MONTEITH TWP, ON) On Monday February 9, 2015, the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a single vehicle collision on Highway 518 West in the Township of McMurrich-Monteith.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., the driver of a 2010 Sierra pick-up truck drove into the ditch.  Police arrived at the collision and subsequently arrested and charged the driver, Thomas BELL, 50 of Hamilton Ontario for driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 26, 2015 in Sundridge, Ontario.

                      DRUG INVESTIGATION LEADS TO CHARGES

(BURK’S FALLS, ON) On Wednesday February 4, 2015 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with members of the North East Region Drug Enforcement Unit and the Emergency Response Team executed a warrant at a Burk’s Falls residence.

Police searched the residence and arrested and charged Paul AUSTIN, 38 of Burk’s Falls Ontario with possession of a controlled substance, marihuana and cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. 

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 12, 2015 in Sundridge, Ontario
