A man and woman face numerous charges after being stopped for speeding on Highway 11 south of North Bay.

On March 29 around 8:30 p.m., Almaguin Highlands OPP pulled over a speeding vehicle along Highway 11 in Strong Township.

Police seized cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphine tablets, Fentanyl, and $1,700. The street value for the drugs seized is approximately $10,000.

Police also seized a loaded rifle, ammunition, brass knuckles, break-and-enter tools, numerous knives, and a mask. 

Cassandra Kemble, 31, of Whitby is charged with:

  • The occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution of obstructing justice (Identity Fraud)
  • Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
  • Fail to stop on the right for an emergency vehicle
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
  • Fail to surrender insurance card
  • Two counts of driving while under suspension
  • Speeding 1- 49 Km/h over the posted limit

Kenneth Dupont 40, of Windsoriaas charged with:

  • The occupant of the motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution of obstructing justice (Identity Fraud)
  • Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition in a careless manner
  • Two counts of failing to comply with a probation order
  • Three counts of failure to comply with a release order
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -opioid
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Both were held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
