Eleven year old Marianne Moreton has been taking pictures "ever since I could hold a camera" she told BayToday as she proudly exhibited her photograph at the ‘North Bay - Beauty in Unexpected Places’ event held at the Discovery North Bay Museum Friday night. Photos by Jeff Turl.

The St.Theresa student has a keen eye with her Nikon camera.

Her picture of Sunset Beach was the first one sold, and it fetched $375.

Marianne was one of 20 photographers taking part, and they were on hand to talk about their work.

Danny Turcotte of Mattawa got rave reviews for his work, including this one bought by Deputy-Mayor Sheldon Forgette for $300.

It's called "Cotton Candy Land"  and was taken underneath the train bridge by the Humane Society on Main Street.

Turcotte says he used a tripod and an exposure time of up to six minutes, while using a flashlight and coloured gels to "paint" the various portions of the structure.
