City to open arena showers for those with frozen water lines

The City of North Bay is opening its doors at local arenas to help out any residents who have no water due to frozen water lines.

With frost levels at a 10-year high according to city officials, public works crews have been very busy repairing frozen water lines across the city.  

In a press release Saturday afternoon the city has allowed residents without water to shower at Pete Palangio arena starting Saturday.  Dressing room 11 and 12 at Pete Palangio will be open to the public until 10:00 p.m. tonight.  

On Sunday, both Pete Palangio and West Ferris arena will be available for use from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. again in dressing room 11 and 12 at Pete Palangio while dressing room 5 will be available at West Ferris.  

City Opens Pete Palangio beginning Feb 28th and West Ferris beginning March 1 to residents experiencing frozen water lines

City officials ask residents to bring their own towels and toiletry items.  

At Pete Palangio Arena please check in at the administration office and staff will direct residents to the dressing rooms.

Beginning Sunday, at West Ferris Arena, residents are asked to see the shift man or rink attendant and staff will direct residents to the dressing room.
