OPP have charged a man with assault with a weapon….
Here’s the unusual part, the weapon was a shopping cart and a 50lb bag of wet soil.
On Thursday, OPP were called to a disturbance outside of a retail store in Wawa.
The assault took place as one man tossed the 50lb bag of soil into a shopping cart that then tipped over onto the victim.
A shouting match then took place, drawing a crowd and the cops.
The victim was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Arrested is Carl Balance, 49, of Wawa.
He’s charged with “assault with a weapon”, and “causing a disturbance”.
Cst. Levis Brousseau told BayToday it’s “certainly one of the oddest” assault cases he’s had to investigate.
