Fan favourite and San Jose Sharks prospect Barclay Goodrow is the OHL Player of the Week.

The Battalion right winger scored three goals added a pair of assists for five points in two games.

Goodrow had a big game Sunday in Oshawa, scoring a hat-trick with an assist as the Troops stunned the Oshawa Generals 5-2 to take a 2-0 lead in the best of seven Eastern Conference Final series for the Bobby Orr Trophy.

The captain opened the scoring just 90 seconds into the game, then scored a shorthanded goal late in the second period, and rounded out his scoring with an empty-net marker in the final minute of play. Goodrow earned first star honours for his effort.

In game one of the series Friday, the overage forward assisted on the only goal of the contest scored by Nick Paul with just over five minutes left in the game to give the Battalion the 1-0 victory.

"Obviously it's going pretty well right now," said Goodrow. "We know the toughest games lie ahead of us and it's not going to be an easy game on Tuesday. We'll have to be ready to bring our level of play up another notch."

"We need to take it one game at a time"

Goodrow, a 21 year old from Aurora, is playing in his fifth and final OHL season.

Origionally selected by the Troops in the first round of the 2009 OHL Priority Selection, Goodrow is the franchise leader in games played with 313. He has signed an entry-level contract with the Sharks as a free agent.

Goodrow recorded a career-high 67 points in 63 games this season, and is currently tied for second in OHL playoff scoring with17 points, including nine goals and eight assists in15 games.

The series continuesTuesday and Wednesday at Memorial Gardens. Both games are already sold out.
