A Sturgeon Falls man has been ordered to vacate Crown land and to rehabilitate the site by October 31, 2014.

Normand Desjardins pleaded guilty to one count of illegally constructing a garage and other structures on Crown land without a work permit and one count of depositing various items on Crown land without authorization. He was ordered remove a garage, sheds, an entrance gate, satellite dish, large propane tank and other additions from Crown land.

The court heard that an investigation by a Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officer and resource management technicians revealed that Desjardins constructed the improvements on Crown Land during the summer of 2011, near Manitou Lake within Clement Township.

Justice of the Peace Michael G. Kitlar heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Sturgeon Falls, on October 21, 2013.
