A total of 155 Ontario personnel are scheduled to return from British Columbia August 18. This brings the resource level of Ontario FireRangers and support personnel still in British Columbia to 306. A planned dispatch of an Incident Management Team and firefighting support personnel has been postponed as British Columbia assesses the fire situation. Some areas have received rain and the outlook is improving but there is still fire activity in areas that received little or no rain so the possibility remains that additional Ontario resources will be deployed to British Columbia.

Always remember to be FireSmart. If you're planning a campfire this weekend, remember to pick a designated campfire pit if available or choose a safe site on bare rock or soil, keep the fire small, never leave it unattended and make sure it is completely extinguished before leaving the site.
