Local man charged with attempted murder

On Tuesday night the 19th of Feb. at approximately 9 PM it is alleged that an argument between a man and a woman took place in a home on Premier Rd. in North Bay.

This argument escalated to the point where the male became enraged and began punching the woman to the floor.

He further allegedly then began to choke the female victim until she lost consciousness and at times also attempted to break her neck.

After the woman regained consciousness she began fighting back and eventually managed to break free. She was then physically thrown out of the house where she sought refuge with neighbours and also attended at the North Bay General Hospital where she was treated and released.

These actions were reported to the North Bay Police and an investigation commenced and the home was placed under surveillance. Investigators sought a warrant to arrest and later the next day on Wed. the 20th of Feb. at approximately 1:40 PM the Emergency Response Team of the North Bay Police Service breached the home and arrested a male in relation to these alleged incidents.

Luke FOY 45 years old of Premier Rd. is charged with Attempt Murder and Assault. He is being held in custody for a bail hearing.
