The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) released the current snow pack information for the North Bay area today as part of their Flood Forecasting and Warning Program.

The NBMCA advises area residents and visitors to use extreme caution around area creeks and lakes as some waterways have areas of open water. Furthermore, area residents and visitors are advised that travel on area lakes and streams is not recommended at this time. Ice conditions remain unsafe for motorized, non-motorized and pedestrian use.

The NBMCA will continue with its bi-weekly monitoring of the snow pack throughout the winter and spring of 2008.
