Mayor Vic reacts to Smith's appointment

The appointment of MPP Monique Smith to Provincial Cabinet today was topic of conversation everywhere in the city from coffee shops, grocery stores to school events.

First in line to congratulate the new Minister of Revenue was Mayor Victor Fedeli, who said he is very happy to see Smith promoted and looks forward to a healthy and prosperous future.

“This is a proud day when one of our own has reached a level that will benefit all our citizens,” he tells BayToday.ca.

“While we may not have always seen eye-to-eye, there’s one thing we both agree on, and that’s the economic prosperity of North Bay.”

“I hope this new appointment is the start of a new era; one that looks to maximize the economic opportunities for North Bay,” he concludes.
