Weekend The North Bay Police responded to 187 calls for service that resulted in 15 arrests. Offences included aggravated assault, assaults, domestic assaults, impaired driving, breach of court orders, and public intoxication.

Robbery
At 10:30 pm on the 29th July two young men were playing video games in a Lakeshore Dr apartment when a man wearing a ski mask and carrying a wood baton walked into the residence through the unlocked door. He struck one of the players in the face with the baton and told the other to put the Xbox and accessories in his backpack. He demanded their wallets but they didn’t have any so he left.

The victim that was struck required medical treatment for minor injuries. The suspect is described as; male, 5’9” to 5’10”, skinny build, black hair, wearing a black ski mask, black sweater, dark coloured pants, carrying a black backpack and a dark coloured wood baton. Cst Blake Vietmeier is investigating.

Man Recognizes Assailant
On 30th Dec 2011 at 2:30 am, 2 people on Main St were stabbed in the face with a broken bottle. The assailant was not identified at the time. On 30th July at 2:00 am one of the victims recognized his attacker in a bar on Main St and contacted the police. Daryl Horsman 31yrs of lakeshore Dr was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and 2 counts of assault with a weapon. Csts Dan Weber and Erin Pemberton are investigating.

Break and Enters
Overnight on July 27 -28 a residence on the 900 block of Jane St was entered while the resident slept. Entry was gained by cutting the screen on the patio door. Stolen property included a blue duffle bag, beer and liquor. Cst Chris Marshall is investigating.

Between 20th July and 28th July a garage on Laroque Rd was entered and a vehicle inside damaged. The vehicle had the radio and speakers stolen as well having the mirrors smashed and dents in the body. Cst Jennifer Hollingshead is investigating.

Between 3:00pm and 11:00pm a vacant unit on Wickstead Ave was entered. Screens were damaged and crayon drawings made on the door and walls. Cst Jennifer Hollingshead is investigating.
