Police Vehicle Collision At 8:40pm on the 12th July a North Bay Police marked unit collided with 2 cyclists at Fisher St south of Worthington St E. Both Cyclists were treated at the hospital. One was released and the other was admitted.

At 8:40pm on the 12th July a North Bay Police marked unit collided with 2 cyclists at Fisher St south of Worthington St E. Both Cyclists were treated at the hospital. One was released and the other was admitted. The officer was responding to a call where a weapon was alleged. The Investigation is being assisted by the O.P.P. Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (T.T.C.I.) unit. The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses to this occurrence are asked to contact the North Bay Police at 705-497-5593.

Weekend
Over the weekend the North Bay Police responded to 245 calls for service that resulted in 25 arrests. Offences included robbery, assault, assault with a weapon, sexual assault, domestic assault, assault police, obstruct police, theft, threatening, impaired driving, breach of court orders, and public intoxication.

Robbery
At 4:15pm on 13th July a man met a second man on the 1100 block of Lavery St. The first man , punched and kicked the other, took his backpack, then fled to a Copeland St address where he was arrested by police at 4:28 pm. Sam McCarthy 20 yrs of Hamilton Ont has been charged with robbery. He has been held in custody for a bail hearing. A second person at the Copeland St address obstructed the police while they were searching for the suspect. Scott Becker 22 yrs was arrested and charged with obstructing police. He is to appear in court on the 28th Aug. Csts Richard Hampel and Geoff Whittle are investigating.

Theft
At 1:26 am on 7th July an outboard motor was removed from the yard of a Tweedsmuir St residence that backs on the bike path. A Trail Cam set up by the owner took pictures of the suspects. At 9:41pm on 15th July John Duhaime of Trout Lake Rd was arrested and charged with theft and breach of recognizance. He was held in custody for a bail hearing. Csts Geoff Whittle and Chris Marshall are investigating.

Assault Police
At 9:00 am on 15th July police received a report of a woman breaching the condition of a recognizance. The woman was located at 9:50 pm at a Charles St address but when the officer was making the arrest, she bit the officer on the left forearm. Brenda Bowker 62 yrs of Charles St was charged with breach of recognizance and assault police. She has been held in custody for a bail hearing.

Threatening
At 12:20 am 14th July police attended a Hwy 11 N residence and gave a man a noise bylaw ticket. At 02:10 am the man threatened to kill a 70 yr old lady, that he believed had complained. Randy Levesque 46 yrs of hwy 11 N was arrested and charged with threatening death. He is to appear in court on 28th Aug. Cst Dan Weber is investigating.

Assault
At 12:45 pm 14th July a man on the 2000 block of Cassells St made numerous unwanted comments to a second man, called him names, pushed him from behind, then punched him in the face. Police attended at which time the man resisted arrest. After a short struggle he was taken into custody. Walter Hobson 46 yrs of Chisolm has been charged with assault and resist arrest. He is to appear in court on 28th Aug. Cst Dan Shepstone is investigating.
