Trappers gain weekend split (new)

Two games don’t make a season, but the North Bay Trappers are way ahead of last year’s pace in the Great North Midget League. The Trappers opened the season in Sault Ste. Marie on the weekend and came away with a split.

Lady Panthers drop pair of games (new)

The Canadore College Lady Panthers lost a pair of games in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association women’s fastball Saturday. The Windsor St. Clair Sain ts won the opener 3-2 at Kelly Field and completed the sweep with a 7-1 victory.

Trappers in Sault to open season (new)

The North Bay Trappers open the Great North Midget Hockey League season Saturday night in Sault Ste. Marie against the North Stars. The two clubs also meet Sunday in the Sault.

Lady Panthers open fastball season Saturday (new)

The Canadore College Lady Panthers open their 10th season in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Fastball League Saturday at Kelly Field, Optimist Park Complex. They host the St. Clair Lady Saints of Windsor at 11 a.m and 1 p.m.

Bulldog youth league set to begin (new)

The North Bay Bulldogs are sponsoring a youth tackle football league. Saturday's games will be played at Rollie Fischer Field.

Change in Laker soccer games (updated)

The Nipissing University Lakers would like to announce that their varsity soccer games scheduled for Sept. 11 and Sept. 12 have been re-located to St. Joseph Scollard Hall High School.

Plenty of ringette action this weekend (new)

The West Ferris Ringette Association begins its 2004/2005 season with a full weekend of events at Pete Palangio Arena and West Ferris Arena to get the players back into the swing of things after their summer break.
