On Saturday, October 13th North Bay got to play host to the Big Leagues. The National Ringette League opened up their 2007/2008 season with a pair of games between the Richmond Hill Lightning and the Cambridge Turbos.

The Franco-Cité Patriotes junior football team won for the third time in as many games beating the Chippewa Raiders 23-6 on Monday afternoon in North Bay. Jesse Audette led the Patriotes offence throwing for two touchdowns and running for another.

The Nipissing Lakers defeated the U of Toronto Varsity Blues 1-0 for the local men's soccer team's first ever victory over the Toronto school. Lakers Eric Yung scored the lone goal on a low shot from outside the 18 yard box in the 65th minute.
