The North Bay Stingers West Ferris Minor Sports Major Peewee AA hockey team played the role of bridesmaid for a second straight tournament this season, bowing to Timmins Readyquip Rampage in the finals of the West Ferris Early Bird hockey tournament

The West Ferris Hilltop Variety Bandits participated in the Peewee AA division of the 24th annual West Ferris Early Bird Tournament on the weekend. The Bandits started the round robin play against Rayside Balfour Tigers.

The North Bay Hilltop Bantam AAA Blades won one of their three weekend contests against the Sudbury Wolves over the weekend in the Nickel City.

The first place Temiscaming Royals continued their winning ways on Saturday night as they defeated the King City Wild 5-1 in King City on Saturday night. Michael Sauvageau scored twice for the Royals.

Darnell Koosees had one goal and added two assists to lead the North Bay Trappers to a 6-2 win over the Timmins Majors at McIntyre arena in Timmins on Saturday night.

The Walters twins continued their domination of cross country running as the West Ferris duo finished first and second in the NOSSA Senior Boys Cross Country race which took place in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday.

Close to 100 skaters from across Northern Ontario will take part in a regional qualifying figure skating competition at Memorial Gardens on November 2nd and 3rd.
