The Nipissing Lakers men’s volleyball team is prepared to defend its 2006 Lakers Volleyball Classic Tournament title as they kick off the schedule Friday at 7:30 PM versus their cross-campus rivals the Canadore Panthers.

The North Bay Skyhawks organization is baffled by what they say is sagging attendance. According to the NOJHL website the Skyhawks are averaging 1,635 fans per game from attendance figures from nine of the first 10 Skyhawks home games this season.

The North Bay Skyhawks remain ranked 14 in the Top 15 Jr. A Hockey teams across Canada for the week ending October 27, 2007. The team has the week to prepare for their next game at home on Sunday, November 11th at 7:00 p.m.

The West Ferris Wingate Bruell Bullets Major Atom ‘AA’ team battled to the finals in the Ottawa Valley Fall Classic Tournament this past weekend.

TORONTO - The Nipissing Lakers men’s volleyball team traveled south this weekend to compete in the Humber Cup, a tournament featuring some of the top teams from the East and West divisions of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA).

North Bay Trappers forward Jamie Olivier has left the Midget AAA team. Olivier had one goal and five assists totaling six points in seven Great North Midget League games this season.

The North Bay Skyhawks are reporting they are averaging roughly 1,300 fans per game at their first 10 NOJHL home games this season. Skyhawks General Manager Guy Blanchard says that number is about 200 less than it was at this point last season.

The West Ferris Lady Trojans doubled the Widdifield Wildcasts 44-22 in the NDA Junior Girls Basketball semifinals.

The Widdifield Senior and Junior Wildcats both made it all the way to the Scarlet and Gold Classic Volleyball tournament finals at the event which took place at Chippewa Senior Secondary over the weekend.
