Mike Poupore of Osprey Links shot a 68 Thursday to win the Osprey Links senior men's fall field day. The score tied the competitive course amateur record shot by Don Mills of Sudbury during the same event in 2002.

Former Toronto Maple Leaf Wendel Clark was in town Tuesday to help open the Oasis Fitness and Wellness Centre at the North Bay Mall. Clark signed autographs and spoke to the fans.

The West Ferris Ringette Association kicked off its 2004/2005 season with a full weekend of events. Several players of all ages took part in a daylong game at Pete Palangio Arena and the money raised will go towards the new hospital.

Dr. Garry Shulman, a local sport psychologist, will talk about ‘Strengthening Communities Through Sport’ at the Sport North Bay presentation Wednesday Sept. 22 at the West Ferris Arena auditorium. The presentation starts at 7 p.m.
