The Temiscaming Royals continue to build their NOJHL roster by signing four more players on Wednesday including one returning defenceman and three forwards. Defenceman Rylan Henley returns for his second season in Temiscaming.

The Nipissing Alouettes will be holding a mini-camp at Pete Palangio Arena in North Bay on Wednesday, July 30th. The first session will go from 12:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. and the second from 9:15 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.

Knowlton Ridge Equestrian Centre is pleased to announce that Ontario Quarter Horse Association Hall of Fame inductee Pat Carter will be conducting clinics at Knowlton Ridge Equestrian on Saturday, August 9th and Sunday, August 10th from 8:00 a.m.

The North Bay Stingers Peewee Select team was on a roll at a tournament in Vaughan over the weekend until they ran into Mother Nature. The Stingers won their first two games but still needed a win to advance to the Semi-Finals.

The North Bay Skyhawks have signed two players, bringing the number under contract for the 2008-09 Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League season to 16.

It was a fantastic weekend for the annual Harwood Plumbing & Heating 2 Man Scramble at Highview Golf Course. With a total of 182 participants, the 3 day tournament was a huge success.

Blanchfield Roofing scored twice in the bottom of the 7th to beat Boston Pizza 8-7. Blanchfield fell behind early as Boston Pizza scored 4 runs off starting pitcher Brett Daniels.

An administrative issue, not a victory on the field, may allow the Bulldogs to get into the NFC playoffs even if they don't win their regular season finale against the Oakville Longhorns next Saturday night at Rollie Fischer Field.
