SUDBURY, ON - The West Ferris Ringette Association’s U12 B Ring Rebels came away with the gold last weekend (Dec 4-6) in Sudbury’s Annual Tournament.

The North Bay North Stars special needs hockey team raced through their Coach4Food practice and added another 1,332 pounds to Tom Hedican's 2009 program.

The West Ferris Wings U14 Ringette team won gold at the 22nd annual Nepean Invitational Tournament. The team went undefeated in round robin play starting with a 10-3 win over Gloucester, followed by a 9-4 win over Nepean.

The Norsemen and Valkyries Weightlifting Club team played host to the 2009 Ontario Junior Championship at the YMCA on Saturday.

TIMMINS, ON – The North Bay Bantam AAA Hilltop Variety Blades picked up one win in three games here over the weekend. In Saturday’s matinee Timmins edged the Blades 4-3 on goals from Troy Columbus, Austin Landry, Nic Brousseau and Austin Boulard.

The Greco's Midget 'A' Blades, in a high-paced practice, loaded 1,089 more pounds on to Tom Hedican's Coach4Food campaign. That pushes the 2009 total to 5,614 pounds (more than 2.5 tons).

The Lasalle Lancers defeated Essex 2-1 in the final of the 36th Annual NDA Hockey Tournament which took over the ice in North Bay from December 4th to 6th.
