This was the final week of the regular Bulldogs Youth Tackle Football League season and these young people are now young football players and the on field product showed it.

Game 1 featured the Riders vying for their first win of the season. This team demonstrated tremendous courage and great effort as they battled the Stamps all the way. The Riders stayed with the Stamps for most of the game, but two key fumbles made the difference as the Stamps sealed the win late in the fourth quarter with a long TD run by David Fournier to win 36–20.

Every time the Stamps delivered a scoring drive, the Riders responded with Jarrett Cauchy impressing the crowd on offence and Cory Greco providing great defensive play. Greco provided eight of the Rider’s points on the defensive side of the ball. Greco returned a fumble 47 yards to open the scoring for the Riders in the first quarter and in the fourth quarter sacked the Stamps QB in the end zone to score the safety.

The safety brought the Riders to within four points of the Stamps, 24–20, with about nine minutes left in the game. The small Riders team just couldn’t hold on as the Stamps’ Robert Tiller and David Fournier each scored a major to put the game out of reach.

In game 2, the Argos were looking to secure second place and hand the Ti-Cats their first loss of the year. For a while it looked like they were going to accomplish their goal as they led the Ti-Cats for much of the game.

The game started with Jonathan Bedard scoring on a 35-yard reception for the Ti-Cats. On the ensuing drive, the Argos Delroy Henry scored on a 30-yard run to tie the game. In the second quarter, Argo ironman Michael Small scored on a spectacular 67 yard run to put his Argos on top 12–6. The score stayed that way for most of the game until the fourth quarter when Bedard and Derrick Garner connected for great long reception touchdown for the Ticats, who went on to a 27-12 win.

Semi-Final action takes place before and after the NDA Senior Football League contest between West Ferris and Scollard Hall at Cundari Field, starting at noon.

The first-place Ti-Cats and the fourth-place Riders play at 10 a.m. in one semifinal game while the semifinal between the second-place Argos and the third-place Stamps will be played at 2:30 p.m. after the NDA game.
