Wildcats snap Voodoos six game winning streak

The Elliot Lake Wildcats upended the visiting Powassan Voodoos 3-2 Friday night in Elliot Lake. 

Spencer MacLean had the lone goal after 40 minutes giving the home side the 1-0 lead going into the final frame.  

Liam Blais gave the Wildcats a 2-0 lead at 10:07.  

However, the Voodoos replied just over a minute later as Michael Silveri got his 25th of the campaign to cut the lead down to 2-1. 

Alec MacKenzie restored the two-goal lead for the Wildcats at 14:49 for the eventual game winner.  

Nick Siracuse pulled the Voodoos back within one at 17:39.  

Garrett Forrest suffered the loss for the Voodoos as he turned away 36 Wildcats shots.  

The Voodoos are back on the road Saturday night when they face the Rayside-Balfour Canadians.  

The Voodoos are back home on Monday night for a meeting with the Espanola Express.  Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
