Widdifield Wildcats Junior soccer team won the 2017 NDA banner Tuesday afternoon thanks to a 3-1 win over the St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears in the NDA Jr Boys Soccer final.
Two goals early in the first half proved to be the difference for the Cats.
Levi Weber scored on a hard low shot that the Bears goalie couldn't handle.
Shortly after that Connor Mullan scored on a breakaway, created by a nice through ball from Drenady Edwards.
The Bears scored midway through the second half, setting up an exciting finish.
With less then 5 minutes left Keon Wallingford put the game away for the Cats.
Ben Thompson got the win in goal for he Cats.
Both teams will represent the NDA at NOSSA.
The Bears travel to Sudbury for AAA and the Cats travel to the Soo for AA championships, games this Friday May 26.
