Three teams from the West Ferris Ringette Association will travel to Sudbury this weekend for the Northeastern Regional Championships. This season's final tournament is a wrap-up for all B and C level teams within the region.

The WFRA Novice B team, defending Northeast champions, hope to equal their performance from last season. Coaches Susan MacDonald and Stephanie Coughlin are confident that their team will do well since they are a good two-way team with several veteran players. The team is also coming off a gold medal win in Caledonia.

Also in action will be the Petite and Tween teams, both of whom have been successful this season, returning to the Bay with gold and silver hardware from invitational tournaments in Caledonia, Guelph and St. Catharines.

The Tween team has a solid roster with many experienced players joining the club this year. Dale Foreshew, the team's head coach, believes the team can skate with the other teams and challenge them for the top medal.

Several players from last year's Novice B team have moved up a category and are now an integral part of the Ferris Petite team. Good offence, backed up by solid defense and goaltending will certainly be key for this squad.

Play begins Friday evening with the final taking place Sunday.
