The North Bay Peewee A Trappers participated in the West Ferris Early Bird Tournament this past weekend and finished with a second place silver medal.

After losing their first two round robin games to the top two seeded teams from Burlington and Huntsville 3-0 and 7-0 respectively, the Trappers got things going in their third game against the East Nipissing Vipers with a 3-0 victory.

Goal scorers for the game were Albert Bouley, Braden Russell and Ben Mason with the shutout going to Terry Lizotte who made many great saves in the game.

With a three teams tied with a similar record of records of 1-2 in the round robin, the Trappers ended up in 3rd place and had to play the same Burlington team they lost to in the round robin.

As the underdogs, the Trappers team came out flying and turned the page to pull off a strong 5-0 victory.  Sam Pannell back stopped the club making it back to back shutout games for the Trappers.

Bryden Shank kicked things off with his first of two goals in the game with further goal support coming from Albert Bouley, Cole Bolger and Sidney Comeau.

Unfortunately, a strong follow up performance from the Huntsville team in the final resulted in a 5-0 loss.

The coaching staff of Dan Girard, Mike Breadmore, Darren Comeau, Matt Duquette and Bob Pipe couldn’t be more proud of the team’s hard work throughout the weekend.  Team Members include Albert Bouley, Jackson Rivet, Braden Russell, Kian Duquette, Hunter Corston, Tommy Pipe, Cole Meunier, Ben Mason, Samuel Pannell, Cole Bolger, Terry Lizotte, Bryden Shank, William Hopper, Tristan Koch, Kyle Anderson, Nate Sinclair and Sidney Comeau.
