The Major Atom AA Trappers captured a bronze medal at the Atom Liftlock tournament in Peterborough this past weekend.

The Trappers opened the tournament against the hometown Petes, coming up short with only one goal from center, Michael Dech.  Goaltender, Carson Ruddy, put on an impressive display between the pipes, keeping the loss close.  In an attempt to battle back, the Trappers faced the Tournament Champions Clarington Toros.  This action packed game resulted in a 4-2 loss for the Trappers, with wingers Charlie Hayne and Mason Fike lighting the lamp.  With playoffs on the line, the Trappers faced off against the West Hill Golden Hawks.  Hayne opened the scoring, followed by center Colton Loiselle, Mason Fike, and Cayden Hill with two.  The 5-0 win sent the Trappers to the semi-finals against the Ajax Knights.  Goaltender Terry Bradley stood tall, defending the net against the Knights.  Going in to the third down by three, Hill potted two quick goals in an effort to come back, however the Trappers fell to the Knights 3-2.

The consolation finals found the Trappers in a re-match against the Peterborough Petes.  Cayden Hill opened the scoring with his fifth goal of the tournament.  The Petes battled back to tie the game.  With strong defense and two more goals from center Ethan Roy and line mate Mason Fike, the Trappers pulled off a bronze victory, taking sweet revenge over the Petes.
